What does the message sent to caregivers actually say?
The SMS messages include shift date, time and location and a link to view full information in the platform.
For shift assignments: Caregivers receive both SMS and email with assignment details and a link to acknowledge/confirm.
What happens if I decline a caregiver with a message?
The caregiver receives a notification with your message. Declining does not penalize them, but it helps provide clarity and transparency around the decision. The caregiver is also invited to browse other open shifts from the message.
Are patient alerts shared with the caregiver?
No. The patient's "Alerts" note as entered in HHAeXchange is not shared with caregivers. However, specific extracted information from alerts (like bedbound status, Hoyer lift needs, pets) is shown to caregivers to help them understand the shift requirements.
What information is shared with caregivers about the patient?
This depends on your organization's privacy settings and the patient's location:
- In populated areas (20K+ population): City, zipcode, pets (cats/dogs), languages spoken, bedbound status, Hoyer lift requirement, patient gender
- In smaller communities (under 20K): Limited location details, may only show pets information
- Always shown: Shift date, time, duration, distance from caregiver's home
Why doesn't the email come with the patient's information?
To ensure compliance with HIPAA rules and protect patient privacy, detailed patient information is not included in email notifications.
