Overview
Accurate case details get you better caregiver matches. Case details are a short set of questions about a case (ie. bed-bound, client smoking, pets, language, gender requirements) Caregivers see these details in the app, and Caribou uses them to match caregivers to open shifts. When details are missing or wrong, caregivers see incomplete information and get matched to shifts they aren't right for.
The Case details box only appears on your Open Shifts page when a case still needs confirming. Once you save, the box disappears. So if you see it, that case needs action.
Your goal is a clean Open Shifts page: every case either has details saved, or is marked as Do not staff.
Steps
1. Go to the Open Shifts page.
2. Work through every case showing a Case details box. Leaving one blank means caregivers see incomplete information about that case, and they can't be matched accurately or request the shift with the full picture.
3. For each case, select each field and choose the answer.
4. Select Save details. The box disappears from your Open Shifts page.
5. To change an answer later, open the case from the Shift detail page and edit the same fields there.
What each field means
Caregiver language — Languages the caregiver needs to speak to work this case.
Bed-bound — Whether the client is confined to bed.
Hoyer lift — Whether the caregiver needs to use a Hoyer lift.
Smoking — Whether anyone smokes in the home.
Pets — Whether there are pets in the home.
Caregiver gender — The client's preference/requirement for the caregiver's gender.
Good to know
Keep your Open Shifts page clean. A visible Case details box always means that case is unconfirmed.
If a case shouldn't be staffed, mark it as Do not staff rather than leaving the details blank.
Every field starts as Unknown or No preference. That's a placeholder, not an answer.
You only need to confirm details once per case. Future shifts on that case use the same details.
Once saved, edits happen on the Shift detail page, since the box is no longer on Open Shifts.
